    • In recognition of long and invaluable service the Nottinghamshire committee agreed to give Arthur Shrewsbury half the net proceeds of the match. Gross proceeds of the match were 714 pounds/10s. 1st day paying attendance was 8,543, second day 7,095. Surrey requiring 261 in 230 minutes won with half an hour to spare
