Melbourne 1-325 thrashed Fankston Peninsula 0-47. Peninsula took
31 overs to score 47 whilst Melbourne took 50 overs for 325.
Ramshaw hit 144 not out off 154 balls with 6 sixes forcing his
way back into the depleted Victorian batting lineup. Jones
chipped in with 72 off 42 balls. St Kilda 5-217 (Dimatinna 50 and
Whitside 90*) defeated Collingwood 167 quite easily with White-
side picking up 4 wickets in probably the performance of the
round. Footscray 6-150 defeated Prahan 6-163 inspite of the stu-
pid rain rule. Fitzroy-Doncaster 1-196 defeated Richmond 4-212.
Ringwood (1-156) defeated Essendon 4-149 and Dandedong Waverly
185 defeated University 8-126 with new Victorian all rounder Ian
Harvey making 42 for the winners and Victorian pace bowler Peter
Anderson follow his 3-30 with Univeristies highest score of 32
not out too. Finally it comes to my teams and both were robbed
by the rain rule. Geelong dismissed Northcote for 148, and then
it rained and Geelong were set 132 in 32 overs. That's right 16
runs less in 18 overs less. Naturally they didn't make it being
7-119 at the end but geez it sucks. My very own North got as
bad a deal. Having let Hawthorn get away with 2-252, it then
rain and North Melbourne lost 8 overs and still had to make
242. In the end they were 2-217 in fact a better run per over
than Hawthorn! And this I believe is the same rule as used for
the WSC competition.
