LAHORE, April 4: An inspired bowling spell by off-spinner Graeme Hick and fine batting by Nick Knight, Alec Stewart and Vince Wells helped England register a facile 111-run win over Pakistan ``A'' in second day and night practice match at the Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday.

Due to interruptions caused by the frequent electricity break-downs, the winning target was reduced by referee Azhar Khan to 232 in 41 overs.

However, the Pakistan ``A'' side batted disappointingly and crashed to 121 all out in 34.5 overs. Paceman Angus Fraser dealt early blows to remove Saeed Anwar Junior and Hasan Raza. Ian Austin removed Muhammad Naveed and Pakistan ``A'' side was struggling at 57 for three.

Hick started his demolition act by first having Akhtar Sarfaraz caught by Austin a few yards inside the boundary line. Hick was supported well by wicketkeeper Vince Wells, who caught Muhammad Husainand Sajid Shah. Mushtaq Ahmad was caught by Austin near the boundary-line off Hick.

Medium-pacer Mark Ealham sent down one lethal over to claim the wickets of Waqar Younis and wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal in only three deliveries.

The only exception was Faisal Iqbal, who defied all the England bowlers and fought a lone battle to remain not out at the top-score of 26.

Earlier, benefiting fully from the batting pitch and dropped catches by Pakistan ``A'' players, the England team hit a big total of 291 for four in the stipulated 50 overs.

Nick Knight and Alec Stewart batted merrily as none of the six Pakistani bowlers used by Waqar Younis, including himself, could make any impact on the two batsmen.England openers plundered 161 runs in 150 minutes before being separated.

Stewartwas well-caught by Saeed Anwar Junior. Stewart hit a big six and nine fours in his knock of 73. He faced 97 balls. Stewart had a couple of 'lives' during his knock.

Nick Knight top-scored for England with a belligerent knock of 92 on 94 balls which also included a six and nine fours.
