Fired-up Pakistan thrash India to avenge World Cup loss
BANGALORE, India, April 4 (AFP) - Wasim Akram's Pakistan buried a World Cup ghost Sunday when they knocked India cold by 123 runs in the tri-series final marred by crowd trouble. Inzamam-ul Haq hit 91 and Shahid Afridi a belligerent 65 off 61 balls as Pakistan piled up 291-8 in 50 overs after electing to take first strike in the day-night international.
