Pakistan field a strong team

ISLAMABAD, Tuesday - Pakistan on Monday announced a 14-member cricket squad for the upcoming triangular Champions Trophy to be played in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The team led by Wasim Akram will leave for Dubai on Tuesday enroute to Sharjah to participate in the tournament opening there on Thursday.

The competition includes World Champions Sri Lanka and New Zealand.

New Zealand team is also scheduled to start a tour of Pakistan this month to play a two-Test series and three one-day matches.

The Pakistani team will return home on November 16 to play against New Zealand.

Team: Wasim Akram (captain), Aamir Sohail, Saeed Awnar, Ijaz Ahmed, Salim Malik, Hasan Raza, Moin Khan, Azam Khan, Shahid Afridi, Waqar Younis, Mushtaq Ahmed, Abdul Razzak, Saqlain Mushtaq and Shahid Nazeer.
