Jarrett Park was a beehive of activity yesterday as workmen laboured feverishly on last minute details as the venue prepares for the first international match in Montego Bay in nine years.
There were some concerns about sections of the outfield which was still wet from two and a half days of rain. Test umpire Steve Bucknor who has assisted in the preparation of the venue over the past two weeks, told The Gleaner that all things remaining equal, there should be no major problems at the start of play. While admitting that parts of the outfield including some patches close to the wicket were still wet yesterday and would remain so this morning, he was optimistic that the field would not be dangerous to the players and would dry out as play went on.
