CRICKET: Jamaica's opening batsman Robert Samuels was not selected yesterday for the West Indies 'A' game against the touring England team at Chedwin Park starting on January 22.

Several of the other players who recently returned to the Caribbean from a disastrous tour of South Africa, were included in the team although captain on that tour, Jamaica's James Adams was also left out.

However, Adams whose place at the helm will be taken by Roland Holder, is expected to be included in the West Indies selection for upcoming Tests against England.

Adams, the left-handed all-rounder, who has played 29 Tests, will also captain Jamaica against England tomorrow at Jarrett Park as regular skipper Walsh has opted out of this game.

Walsh is expected to play against the Windward Islands in Dominica in the President's Cup tournament just prior to the first Test.

The West Indies 'A' squad is: Roland Holder (captain), Leon Garrick, Wavel Hinds, Keith Semple, Floyd Reifer, Laurie Williams, Ricky Hoyte, Rawl Lewis, Nixon McLean, Reon King and Pedro Collins
