CRICKET: The West Indies selectors have recalled Jamaican fastbowler Franklyn Rose and Grenadian wicketkeeper Junior Murray for the squad for the sixth and final Test against England.

Dropped from the side for the drawn fifth Test yesterday are Trinidadian fastbowler Ian Bishop and wicketkeeper David Williams, another Trinidadian.

The West Indies squad for the final Test in Antigua and Barbuda from March 20 to 24 is : Brian Lara (captain), Clayton Lambert, Philo Wallace, Carl Hooper, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Roland Holder, Jimmy Adams, Curtly Ambrose, Nixon McClean, Courtney Walsh and Dinanath Ramnarine.

Murray left his native Grenada last week to turn out for Jamaica's champion club team Kensington in their local Senior Cup cricket competition. He kept wicket tidily and when his team batted he opened the innings and made 19 out of a total of 73 for four in a rain affected match.

The omission of Rose has been the subject of much discussion throughout the Caribbean with many saying he deserved a place ahead of Bishop who has been out of form during the present series but has still been able to hold onto his place for the last two Tests.
