Latif will lead a 14-member Pakistan team in the Bangladesh silver jubilee three-nation tournament which features India besides the host. The event will be played between Jan 10 and 18.

``I think a camp of four days wouldn't be bad because it will help the players to regroup and reunite,''Latif said.

Latif, one of the world's best wicketkeepers, argued that domestic season was on but only four-day matches were being played. ``I agree that it would keep the players fit and in match practice but one-day cricket is quite different.''

Latif, however, showed keen interest in the camp also because he wanted the players to get together and seriously start thinking about the new assignment.

``The more we stay together, the more we will discuss cricket and the coming task. This would also help to prepare a tentative strategy for the tournament.

``I am the captain but I believe in total teamwork and for that I am ready for any player to come forward and give his suggestion. Whatever I would do in the field, it will have the consent of all the players, specially the senior ones,'' stated Latif.

Latif dispelled impressions that he was scheduled to meet the PCB chief executive Majid Khan on Monday. ``Yes, I have been told that I have to attend a meeting with the PCB officials but neither the time nor date has been communicated to me.

``As soon as I get their message, I will fly to Lahore,'' he said, adding: ``In that meeting, I will suggest a short training camp.''

Latif said he would not ask about his tenure as captain. ``It's the discretion of the PCB Council and I don't want to interfere in their work. I would accept their decision.''
