One day match between India and New Zealand abandoned

WELLINGTON, Jan 14 (AFP) - The one-day cricket match between New Zealand and India at the Basin Reserve here Thursday was abandoned because of rain.

India had made 208 for four in a rain-shortened innings of 32 overs with Rahul Dravid making 68 and Mohammad Azharuddin 52. New Zealand were 89 for two in reply after 12.1 overs when heavy rain set in forcing the umpires to end play.

The match will now be played on Friday, the scheduled reserve day.
