Zimbabwe paceman Henry Olonga wrecked India's confidence ahead of the Champions Trophy final with a deadly wicket-taking burst here on Wednesday.

Olonga sliced through the top-order to finish with 4-46 as India, replying to Zimbabwe's 205-7, were bundled out for 192 to lose the last league match by 13 runs.

The win could not have come at a better time for Zimbabwe, who take on the Indians again on Friday in their first-ever final of a major limited-overs tournament.

Both teams finished the preliminary league with three wins, while world champions Sri Lanka lost all their four matches.

Olonga, making his first appearance in the tournament after Zimbabwe rested three key bowlers Heath Streak, Eddo Brandes and Paul Strang for the inconsequential match, wasted no time to seize the opportunity.

He trapped Saurav Ganguly leg-before in his first over, had Rahul Dravid taken in the slips in the second and then claimed the prized wicket of Sachin Tendulkar in his third.

Tendulkar, who made 11, jabbed at a short rising ball to be caught at point - having seen the previous delivery which was edged to the wicket-keeper declared a no ball.

Olonga returned for his second spell to remove Ajay Jadeja, who led the Indians as Mohammad Azharuddin, Javagal Srinath and Anil Kumble took a break.

India, 104-6 at one stage, fought back through a 55-run stand for the seventh wicket between Robin Singh (49 not out) and Nikhil Chopra (39).

Olonga almost undid the good work when he conceded 16 runs in the 46th over that left India needing 20 off 24 balls.

The Indians, howwever ruined their victory hopes as four batsmen ran themselves out attempting risky singles against one of the best fielding sides in the game.

Zimbabwean captain Alistair Campbell, who did not take the field in India's innings, said his team was looking forward to the final. ``It should be a good game because I think both sides are evenly matched,'' he said. ``Henry (Olonga) bowled a magnificent spell. It is very important to win any international, but we are all keyed up for the final.''

Jadeja said he was confident the Indians will come back roaring in the final. ``In a way it's good we had a bad game now, not in the final,'' he said. ``It'll be another day, another match. Hopefully we will win.''

Earlier, Zimbabwe recovered from a shaky start to post 205-7 after being sent in to bat by Jadeja. Zimbabwe slumped to 65-5 by the 20th over before Campbell rescued his team with a captain's knock of 83 not out. It was Campbell's first substantial contribution in the tournament following knocks of 5, 25 and 9 in the previous matches. Campbell added 55 for the sixth wicket with Gavin Rennie, who made 28, and 81 for the seventh with Andy Whittall (29). The late-order revival helped Zimbabwe add 85 in the last 15 overs, leaving India a target of just over four runs an over.
