In the fourth match of the Coca-Cola Champions Trophy tournament at Sharjah against Sri Lanka on 9 November, Javagal Srinath became the third Indian after Kapil Dev and Anil Kumble to take 200 wickets in Limited Overs International cricket when he dismissed Arjuna Ranatunga. Srinath achieved this feat in his 147th match and he had bowled 7663 balls at the point of taking 200 wickets. Thus, he creates a new Indian record of taking 200 wickets in the least number of balls, previously held by Kumble (approximately 7927 balls) and also equals Kumble's Indian record of achieving this feat in the minimum number of matches (147).

The following tables show Srinath's performance and his milestones, updated to the end of the fourth match (Ind v SL, 9 November) in the Coca-Cola Champions Trophy.
