Aus in Pak: Umpires named for one-dayers

KARACHI, Nov 3: Salim Badar, one of the two Pakistanis on the International Cricket Council (ICC)'s panel of umpires, will officiate in the first two games of the three-match One-day Internationals between Pakistan and Australia, which begins from Friday (Nov 6).

Badar, who is to stand in the first one-dayer here at the National Stadium, will also supervise the second One-day International at Peshawar in place of Javed Akhtar.

Akhtar, who is the other Pakistani representative on the ICC panel, is unavailable for the home series since he is one of three international umpires in the triangular tournament at Sharjah which also starts from Friday.

Badar and Riazuddin will supervise the first One-day International with Feroz Butt as the TV replays umpire while Afzaal Ahmed is the reserve umpire.

Badar and Athar Zaidi will officiate in the second One-day International on Sunday (Nov 8). Said Shah will be the TV replays umpire with Sajjad Asghar as the reserve umpire.

The third and final One-day International will be supervised by Mian Mohammed Aslam and Mohammad Nazir Junior. Iftikhar Malik has been named a the TV replays umpire while the reserve umpire is Siddique Khan.
