Ijaz, Taylor top batting averages

KARACHI, Oct 26: Ijaz Ahmed and Mark Taylor, who scored that memorable unbeaten 334 in the second Test at Peshawar, finished on top of the averages at the conclusion of the three-match Test series here on Monday.

Ijaz, who played in only two matches, finished on top of the batting averages on either side, scoring 280 runs at 140.00.

Taylor, who accumulated 513 runs, averages 128.50 for the series. Australian leg spinner Stuart MacGill tops the bowling averages by picking up 15 wickets - most on either side - at an average of 27.46.

Fast bowler Glenn McGrath was the only other bowler to claim 10 or more wickets. He finished with 12 scalps at 28.66.
