Cash bonanza for Dhaka carnival

NEW DELHI, Oct 6: A total prize money of 400,000 dollars will be on offer at the Wills International Cup tournament beginning in Dhaka on October 24, the event's organisers said today.

The winning team would receive 100,000 dollars while the runners-up would get 60,000 dollars. The losing semifinalists would be richer by 30,000 dollars each while winning a quarterfinal match would be worth 20,000 dollars, they said.

All the nine participating teams, would collect 15,000 dollars for taking part in the knockout tournament, the International Cricket Council's fund-raising competition.

A total of 5,000 dollars had been set aside for eight player-of-the-match awards during the tournament.
