Sri Lanka Schools: Petes meet Ananda in key game

The 'A' Division League champions St. Peter's College will confront the former champions Ananda College in a key Elephant Lemonade Cup knock out tournament quarterfinal match on April 27 at the R. Premadasa Stadium.

The Peterites retained the League title for the second successive year by recording seven victories and are hoping to complete a double for the current year. The Anandians recorded six wins in the League and defeated Raddoluwa MV in the pre quarterfinals.

In addition S. Thomas' College Mount Lavinia will take on Kalutara MV in another quarterfinal fixture on the same day at CCC grounds, Maitland Crescent. The Thomians had a successful outing in the pre quarterfinals by overcoming Isipatana quite convincingly.

Meanwhile the giant killers St. Sylvester's College Kandy will be up against Lumbini MV in their encounter at the NCC grounds, Maitland Place. The Sylvestrians created the biggest upset by defeating Nalanda in the pre quarterfinals in Kandy. The other quarterfinal game will be between the traditional rivals St. Sebastian's College and Prince of Wales College at the P. Saravanamuttu Stadium.

The Sebastianites edged out D.S. Senanayake by two wickets at Wijerama Mawatha while the Cambrians defeated Vidyartha on a faster run rate in their pre quarterfinal match. The two semifinals will be worked off on April 29 at the NCC grounds and CCC grounds while the final is scheduled for May 2 at the SSC grounds, Maitland Place.
