Bangladesh: Odumbe, Tikolo return home Our Sports Reporter - 3 February 1999 Steve Tikolo and Maurice Odumbe left the city on Monday. The Kenyan duo, who played nine matches for Mohammedan Sporting Club in the Premier League, took the first available flight to Nairobi after playing against Abahani on Sunday. Odumbe and Tikolo, both had contracts with Mohammedan till January 31, had to leave the capital without playing the next two matches in a bid to join the Kenyan World Cup camp. The departure of the Kenyans, however, left an injury-plagued Mohammedan in disarray. With their hopes for regaining the title taking a nose dive after an 11-run defeat against Abahani, Mohamme-dans will struggle fielding eleven fit players in their next two matches against Sadharan Bima and Victoria. Although Mohammedans have one more foreign player in Pakistan leg-spinner Shahed Mehmud, they will miss the services of left-handed opener Imran Hamid and spinner Seikh Salahuddin. Imran is yet to recover from a twisted left knee while Salahuddin, who has a fractured wrist, have been advised to take a three-week rest.
