Clyde Butts, the former West Indies and Guyana leg spinner who is coach/manager of the team, said at yesterday's training at Sabina Park that the team did not play well against Trinidad in their opening match in Trinidad, but that was behind them now.

``We are looking to play some good positive cricket against Jamaica,'' said Butts. ``Our team is a very young band of players and we are looking to perform well.''

Butts said with the inclusion of West Indies opening batsman Clayton Lambert the batting should be much stronger.

``He is certainly expected to lift the spirit of the players. Lambert is expected to bat in the middle to stabilise that department,'' Butts said.

Guyana's strength, he said, was their all-round ability and he thinks the spinners will play a key role in the match.

Meanwhile, 22-year-old Nicholas deGroot who is having his first season as captain of Guyana also said the defeat by Trinidad was behind the team.

``With Lambert back in the team it will be a big plus for us as he is a team man and the players should rally around him and make some good scores.''

``I think we will put Lambert in the middle to strengthen and balance the team,'' said deGroot. ``Jamaica are on an high and have a very experienced team and a number of good players.''

The young Guyanese captain said Jamaica has three key players Wavell Hinds, captain Jimmy Adams and Christopher Gayle.

``We will be taking a good look at these players,'' he said
