Panadura set for first innings points

Panadura seems to be set to get first innings points from BRC in their Premier Cricket Tournament game at Havelock Park. Yesterday, Panadura were all out for 285 and BRC in reply were 223 for 7 at close.

Panadura 285 in 111.3 overs (S. Kumara 34, S. Liyanage 43, Kapila Silva 47, Indika Amithaaratchi 25, Mangala Jayasena not out 38, Amila Perera 28, C. Mudalige 4 for 77, Deepal Madurapperuma 2 for 36).

Matale Thomians held to draw

Sri Rahula College, Katugastota held St. Thomas' College, Matale to a draw in their Elephant Lemonade Cup inter school cricket match played at Matale.

Zahira Gampola massive 403/9 dec

Zahira College, Gampola ran up the highest total in school cricket in the hill capital this season when they amassed 403 for 9 declared in their Elephant Lemonade Cup inter school cricket match against Ginigathena Central College which ended in a draw at Zahira Grounds, Gampola.

Leading Zahira's run riot was M. M. M. Ramees 109 (11 fours, 3 sixes) and S. M. Thushara 144 (17 fours, 1 six) and this pair was involved in a massive stand of 244 for the third wicket. Thushara completed a fine double by capturing a match bag of 8 for 79. This was Ramees' second century this season.

At close Ginigathena Central struggling at 135 for 9 in their second essay still requiring 129 to avoid an innings defeat.

Zahira College, Gampola: 403 for 9 declared in 89 overs (M. Shakeer 21, M. M. M. Ramees 109, S. M. Thushara 144, S. Bahardeen 50 not out, H. M. Riswan 40, S. M. Pradeep 2 for 97, F. S. Samantha 3 for 112).

Ginigathena Central College: 142 all out in 43 overs (Thusitha Rangana 79, T. Surath 22, H. M. Hafis 5 for 40, S. M. Thushara 3 for 36) and 135 for 9 wickets in 79 overs at stumps (T. Rangana 34, H. M. Hafeez 3 for 40, S. M. Thushara 5 for 43).

Sebastianites get 1st innings points

Sebastianites coached by Ranjan Paranawithana, registered a good first innings win over the table leaders NCC in their Premier League tournament match continued at Maitland Place yesterday.

Scores:

Sebastianites 325 all out and 11 for one at close.

NCC 289 all out (Naweed Nawaz 71, Nimesh Perera 3 for 52, D. Fernando 3 for 46, C. Liyanage 3 for 56).

Saman Jayantha 104

Saman Jayantha made 104 and Singha Sports Club were able to make 245 for 5 wickets in their second innings, after been shot out for 112 in their first innings in their Premier Division cricket tournament match against Moors SC at Braybroole Place. Moors made 264 in their first innings after being 194 for 4 wickets overnight.

Kurunegala YCC follow-on

Kurunegala YCC were made to follow on in their Premier Division One cricket match played at St. Joseph's College, Darley Road yesterday.

Scores:

Tamil Union: 358 for 6 overnight 400 for 8 declared. (Gayan Wijekoon 142, Brijesh Jeganathan 35, Ajith Ekanayake 3 for 80).

Kurunegala YCC: 140 (S. Gunasekera 24, H. Liyanage 23 n.o., R. Madurusinghe 25, A. Munasinghe 20, Mario Villaverayan 2 for 25, N. Bandaratilleke 2 for 24, D. Rajapakse 2 for 21) and 40 for 5 (Mario Villaverayan 2 for 11).

Negombo CC were 159 for 4 in reply to Kurunegala SC's 277 in their Sara Trophy Division One cricket match played at St. Anne's College grounds, Kurunegala yesterday.
