Lancashire League: Merger ruled out

Ew Cartons Lancashire League officials have denied a possible merger with the Central Lancashire League.
Former secretary Rod Slater had stated he could envisage a time in the future when the two leagues might join forces.
But the Lancashire League executive have issued a statement denying such suggestions.
``The idea of a merger between the Central Lancashire League and the EW Cartons Lancashire League has not been on any agenda for discussion at any level.
``The rumours were due to remarks made at the Annual General Meeting.''
