The announcement of the Pakistan Under-19 cricket team for the four-match tour of Malaysia this month was again deferred as the national junior selection committee ended up on curtailing the 30-probables list to 25 after holding a trial match at the Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday.

Earlier, the announcement had been postponed on March 28 for the tour that begins on April 9.

It is learnt that the team has been prepared by the selectors but the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Lt-Gen Tauqir Zia was keen to further watch the probables before giving his nod.

The PCB chairman on Sunday also watched the trial match. However, Haroon Rasheed (chief selector) and Farrukh Zaman (selector) were not present.

Salman Butt and Najaf Shah, who were included in the 30-probables list, were left out on the pretext that their names would be considered either for Pakistan senior team or Pakistan A side.

The 16-man squad will be picked from the following boys:

Babar Naeem (Rawalpindi), Khalid Latif (Karachi), Atiq-ur-Rahman (Gujranwala), Salman Qadir (Lahore), Asim Munir (Gujranwala), Kamran Sajid (Lahore), Amin-ur-Rehman (Karachi), Shakil-ur-Rahman (Peshawar), Azhar Ali (Lahore), Mohammad Khalil (Lahore), Azam Husain (Karachi), Afaq Rahim (AzadKashmir), Faisal Khan (Sialkot), Aftab Khan (Peshawar), Aftab Ahmad (Karachi), Junaid Zia (Rawalpindi), Nadeem Javed (Sheikhupura), Abdul Shakoor (Azad Kashmir), Shahid Yousaf (Sialkot), Zulqarnain Haider (Lahore), Shehryar Khan (Peshawar), Raza Ali Dar (Lahore), Khaqan Raja (Lahore), Agha Tahir (Mirpurkhas), Irfanuddin (Karachi).

Meanwhile, the PCB advisory council will meet at its headquarter in the Gaddafi Stadium on April 3 instead of Monday, a board spokesman said.
