Some speculative news has appeared in the press regarding Shoaib Akhtar. The PCB clarifies the position as follows:

Shoaib is with the University of Western Australia since 20th March 2001. He has undergone bio-mechanical analysis of his action. The essentials of his peculiar musclo-skeletal structure based upon hyper flexibility of joints are already known. He is presently undergoing appropriate training to offset the impression of throwing caused to the naked eye. We are hopeful that he will come through. However, the final outcome will be known only after we receive his final report in about a week to 10 days from now.
