An unbroken 46-run partnership for the eighth wicket between Jonathan Rodrigues (30 n.o.) and Calvin Gonsalves (20 n.o.), enabled KGA Gymkhana register a narrow three-wicket triumph over Sadiq Sports in the KCCA Zone III Senior League cricket tournament, played at the KGA ground on Sunday.

Having first use of the wicket, Sadiq Sports, thanks to a first wicket partnership of 109 runs between Kamran Yaqoob (53) and Ahmer Ahmed (53), reached 218 for 5 wickets in their 35 allotted overs with Naveed Haider weighing in with 40. Freddy Decruze 2/34 and Hilary Rodrigues 2/69 were among the wickets for the KGA.

Chasing 219 runs for victory, KGA Gymkhana with Sunil Shanker on (61) and Sham Ramesh (41), were cruising along at 131 for 1. But in a sudden change of fortunes, KGA were reeling at 174 for 7, before Jonathan and Calvin pulled their team through to victory. Sohail 2/32, Waqar Zubair 2/50 and Amir Jabbar 2/66, shared the wickets for the losers.
