Pakistan beat Malaysia in succession by nine wickets
Pakistan Cricket Board - 13 April 2001

Pakistan Under-19 Cricket Team currently visiting Malaysia have won their second successive one-day match against their counter-parts by a convincing margin of nine wickets, according to a report received have today.

Pakistan leading 2-0 will be playing a series of five one-day matches against Malaysia Under-19 teams.

Playing their second match on Thursday at Kilat ground Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia won the toss and elected to bat. The home team could not face the fiery pace and a balanced bowling attack of the visitors and were skittled out for 62 runs. Junaid again bowled an inspired spell to provide an early breakthrough by claiming two wickets, removing their top batsmen.

Junaid, Khalil and Kamran Sajid all clamed two wickets each and Azhar Ali, Azam Hussain and Salman Qadir got one wicket each respectively.

Pakistan under-19 reeled off the requisite runs for the loss of only one wicket and reached the target in the 10th over. Khalid Latif, the captain, was once again top scorer with an unbeaten 35.
