PERTH, April 18 AAP - A West Australian cricket player has reportedly failed a drug test.

The player, whose name has not been released, will face an independent tribunal tomorrow, ABC radio reported.

It was not clear whether the player was an Australian Cricket Board (ACB) contracted player, but he was reportedly not a member of the current Test or one-day squads.

"We are not in a position to comment," said ACB public affairs manager, Brendan McClements.
