  • Inzamam now has an aggregate of 2097 runs from 47 appearances at this ground which makes him the most prolific run-scorer at Sharjah. He surpassed the tally of fellow teammate Saeed Anwar who has an aggregate of 2051 runs from 48 matches at the end of this match.

  • Inzamam now has an aggregate of 1053 runs from 21 day-night matches at Sharjah- yet another milestone for this burly batsman. Inzamam went ahead of India's Sachin Tendulkar's run-aggregate of 1048 runs from 22 matches.

  • The win was Pakistan's 7th in as many matches at this ground since the match against India on 26-03-2000. This is the third best sequence for a side at Sharjah. Pakistan had won 10 consecutive matches under Imran Khan's captaincy from 23-03-1989 to 04-05-1990 (Javed Miandad captained Pakistan in one match). South Africa had a streak of 8 consecutive wins under Hansie Cronje's captaincy from 13-04-1996 to 27-03-2000.

  • Pakistan won the match with 148 balls to spare. This was the fourth largest win by any side at Sharjah in terms of balls to spare. Interestingly all these four occasions involve Pakistan with New Zealand at the receiving end on three occasions.

  • Pakistan has not lost a single match against New Zealand at Sharjah in eight meetings between the two sides.

  • Saqlain Mushtaq was winning Man of the Match award for the seventh time in his career-his first at Sharjah.
