Indian probables for Zimbabwe tour to be picked on April 23
18 April 2001

The selection committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will meet in Baroda on April 23 to pick the Indian probables for the Zimbabwe tour next month.

BCCI secretary Jaywant Lele told PTI on Wednesday that the chairman of the selection committee Chandu Borde and his colleagues would watch the five-day Ranji Trophy final between hosts Baroda and Railways starting here tomorrow before picking the 22 probables on the last day of the Ranji final.

"The Indian captain Sourav Ganguly will also attend the meeting. India is to play two Test matches and triangular series, with the West Indies as the third team. The Indians will also play two side games against CFX Academy at Harare (from May 28-30) and Zimbabwe-A at Mutare (from June 2-4) in Zimbabwe", Lele added.

The first Test will be held in Harare from June 7-11 while the second will be played at Bulawayo from June 15-19. The triangular series would be held from June 23 to July 7.

The 22 probables would attend a conditioning camp before the Indian team would be picked. The venue of the conditioning camp would be decided during the working committee meeting at Delhi on April 24.
