Cheltenham & Gloucester, the UK's third largest mortgage provider, and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have unveiled the trophy to be presented to the winners of the Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy, the premier One-Day knockout tournament in England and Wales.

Round One of the Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy takes place tomorrow (1st May) with the Final at Lord's on Saturday 1st September.

The Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy is 74cm (29 inches) high and made from 4 kilos of solid sterling silver. The cup features hand-carved and cast gold cricket bats and balls decorating the upper and lower circumferences of the trophy.

Chris Steele, C&G's General Manager Marketing, said "The new Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy is a prestigious piece of silverware for a prestigious tournament. It's a fabulous reflection of the event's importance in the world of cricket and a prize that we're sure every county will want in its cabinet this year."

ECB Chief Executive Tim Lamb said: "It is a stunning trophy and the competition will help to broaden the appeal of the First Class County game to a new generation of cricket-watchers. We wish all the teams playing tomorrow the very best of luck."
