Somerset Seconds face large total at Clevedon
Richard Walsh - 2 August 2001

There was no play at Clevedon Cricket Club today in the 3-day match between Somerset Seconds and M.C.C. Young Cricketers.

The M.C.C declared their innings at their overnight total of 435 for 5 wickets but the rain prevented a ball being bowled.

Yesterday the M.C.C. batted all day on a flat track. Their total was built around two centurions, R.J.Nichol (104), A.P.R.Gidman (102*) and an unbeaten 71 from N.D.Beckett.

For Somerset sixteen year old leg spinner Michael Munday from St Erth in Cornwall made an impressive debut bowling 19 overs, 4 maidens and taking 1 wicket for 67.
