Govt Muslim Model School win PCB Instaphone Inter School Tournament
Pakistan Cricket Board - 3 August 2001

Government Muslim Model School on Friday won the PCB Instaphone Inter School Cricket Tournament at Lahore by defeating City School by nine wickets in the final played at LCCA Ground.

Batting first, City School were all out for 103 in 29.4 overs. Qasim Hussain (29 not out) and Shahbaz Iqbal (23) were the top scorers and only batsmen to reach double figures.

Nawaz Sardar took 3 for 23 and Irfan Haider 2 for 21.

Muslim Model ruled off the target in 14.5 overs for the loss of one wicket. Kashif Imran scored 26 and Asim Zakir remained unbeaten with a scintillating 65.

Former Test cricketer and national coach for the junior team, Haroon Rasheed, gave away the trophies after the final.
