Somerset Second team coach Julian Wyatt has named the squad of 12 who will make the long journey north to Scarborough to meet Yorkshire in the semi finals of the One day competition on Monday.

Keith Parsons will captain the side, which will be chosen from - Matthew Wood, Pete Trego, Graham Rose, Jason Kerr, Wes Durston, Chris Hunkin, Arul Suppiah, Joe Tucker, John Payn (wicket-keeper), Ian Jones and Jamie Grove.

The team will be travelling together by coach which leaves The County Ground at 11am on Sunday morning and stay overnight at Scarborough. If the game is rain affected then play will continue on Tuesday.

Earlier today the coach told me, "Yorkshire will have a strong side for this match and are likely to include former England Test player Gavin Hamilton and Paul Hutchinson. It's a great experience for the youngsters , not many of them have played at this level in the competition before."

The last time that Somerset reached this stage in the competition was in 1992 when they lost to Northants at Taunton. In 1990 Somerset reached the final only to lost to Lancashire at old Trafford.

"This time we'll be hopingto go one better," concluded the coach.
