Trego and Wood in squad to face Leicester Foxes on Tuesday
Richard Walsh - 13 August 2001

All rounder Pete Trego and batsman Matt Wood are both in the squad of 12 that Somerset Coach Kevin Shine has named to face Leicestershire Foxes at The County Ground tomorrow in what is a crucial match for the Sabres in the Norwich Union National League.

The Somerset Coach told me "We've had a good break from the National League and can now hopefully get back to winning ways in the white ball game."

The full squad for tomorrow's match, which gets underway at 11 am is: Cox, Bowler, Burns, Parsons, Blackwell, Dutch, Turner, Trego, Kerr, Jones, Grove and Wood.

Chief Executive Peter Anderson added: "In the excitement of the cup run the players are well aware that they have a difficult job on their hands in the National League. The players accept that this is of their own making because they have been inconsistent with both bat and ball.

"Before it was 'Fortress Taunton', but this year we don't seem to be able to perform well at home in this competition." He went on: "The pressure is on us now in all three cups, and we can't afford to slip up in any of them."
