Tudor has the edge
Wisden CricInfo staff - August 3, 2001

England bowlers beating the bat

Alex Tudor has come in and provided a real cutting edge, beating the bat or finding the edge with exactly a quarter of the balls he has bowled. It's true that Darren Gough and Andy Caddick have been doing the same, and more often than in the first two Tests, when the average of the England bowlers was 9.92%. The Trent Bridge pitch has had something to do with that - Glenn McGrath described it as 'not an ideal Test wicket there's a fair bit in it for the bowlers'. Even so, Tudor's 25% is very impressive. For the moment, it seems as if England have found the penetrative support their opening bowlers have been looking for.
