Two Ton Twins
Wisden CricInfo staff - August 24, 2001

After giving his twin brother a 30-run start, Steve Waugh didn't take long to catch him up. With his injury, he probably felt he couldn't afford to hang around. Despite taking his time to go from 20 to 30 (as the chart shows), he raced from 50 to 80 in only 22 balls, the first of which was a six. By the time Mark reached 99, Steve was already on 96. Then the nervous (or painful) nineties came into play, and Steve took another 35 balls to reach 100. In contrast, Mark's nineties weren't particularly nervous by Test standards, although even he must have sweated a little when he spent five balls on 99. How many balls the Waughs took to reach their hundreds
