Justin Vaughan confirmed on ACA Board of Directors
Auckland Cricket Association - 28 August 2001

Former Auckland and New Zealand representative Justin Vaughan has been confirmed as a new appointment to the Auckland Cricket Association's Board of Directors. A long-standing member of the Takapuna Cricket Club, Vaughan represented Auckland from 1989 until 1997, the last four seasons as captain.

The Auckland all-rounder played in six Test matches and eighteen One-Day Internationals for New Zealand between the 1992/93 and 1996/97 seasons.

Trained as a medical doctor and currently working as a project manager and management consultant in the private health sector, Vaughan replaces long standing board member, Don Hattaway, who did not seek re-election at the Annual General Meeting. Hattaway has served on the board for seven years, the last five and a half as Chairman.

Current Board members, John Crocker and Brent King were re-elected for an additional term at the meeting. The full board is: Michelle Boag, John Crocker, John Graham, Brent King, Rex Smith, Stewart Wilson and Vaughan. The new Chairman of Auckland Cricket, will be elected by the Board, at the next Board of Directors meeting on the 3rd of September.

Other major appointments at the Annual General Meeting were Peter Badley to the position of Patron and Ray Hopkins as President.

ACA Chief Executive, Lindsay Crocker, announced a net operating surplus of $16,935 for the year ended 31 May 2001. "It is with some pleasure we can deliver a $2 million turnover for the first time, suffer the temporary downturn of international cricket, yet still deliver our programmes profitably," Crocker said.
