Final four found in Milo Trophy
Canterbury Cricket Association - 11 December 2001

The final four schools have now been found in the Milo Trophy Cricket competition for Year 5 and 6 school students.

After starting out with 41 teams, sides have been slowly whittled down to the semi-finalists over the course of the fourth term.

The two semi-finals, which will be played this week, on Friday afternoon are:

Springston v Oaklands at Springston School
Windsor v Elmwood at Clare Park

Schools throughout the Canterbury region have been involved, many from Christchurch, with schools from areas like Cust, Darfield, Amberley, Rangiora and Glentunnel also being involved.

Both the teams who played in last year's final (Springston and Windsor), have reached the last four again, but a repeat of last year's final will be the last thing on the minds of Elmwood and Oaklands Schools, who will be looking to reach the final for the first time.

"It is a great competition, and the boys and girls have really enjoyed being part of it. Being last years winner they have been full of enthusiasm and keen to practice as much as possible. We hope that this will pay dividends in next weeks final," said last year's winning coach, Dave Tilson from Springston.

The final will be played on Tuesday December 18th at 1-3pm.
