The proposed tour to Kenya has been put on hold until about mid-year 2002. It was felt it would be too rushed and as it is of importance to both cricket unions it must be done properly.

The Matabeleland team and the Board of the Association met at a cocktail party on 14 December for both groups to get together, meet each other and establish a spirit amongst the cricket hierarchy.

For the last season Jason Hitz was 12th man for the whole season and although disappointed at not playing, never let it get him down. He was presented with a Matabeleland tie in recognition and just to remember his season. The Logan cup squad, which should have been announced by the new but inexperienced selection panel, will now hopefully be announced early in the New Year.
