Drum gets run in second Test
New Zealand Cricket - 24 December 2001

State Auckland Aces bowler Chris Drum has been called in to the CLEAR Black Caps starting line up for the second Test against Bangladesh and Chris Martin has moved to 12th man.

The CLEAR Black Caps team for the second Test against Bangladesh at the Basin Reserve in Wellington starting on Boxing Day is:

Stephen Fleming (captain)
Shane Bond
Chris Cairns
Chris Drum
Matt Horne
Craig McMillan
Adam Parore
Mark Richardson
Mathew Sinclair
Daniel Vettori
Lou Vincent
Chris Martin (12th man)

Coach Denis Aberhart said that in choosing Drumm ahead of Martin it was a case of "horses for courses".

"Chris Martin certainly didn't bowl badly in Hamilton," said Aberhart.

"But Chris Drum bowled superbly for Auckland against Bangladesh at Eden Park and has the ability to swing the ball and the strength to bowl long spells in to the wind.

"We'll be looking for him to do both of those things in this Test."

The batting line up will also have a slightly different look with Matt Horne opening, Lou Vincent moving down to three and Mathew Sinclair coming in at five or six.
