Australian squad for the Third Orange Test match against South Africa
Australian Cricket Board Chief Executive Officer James Sutherland today announced that the National Selection Panel has chosen the following squad for the Third Orange Test match against South Africa at the Sydney Cricket Ground, starting on Wednesday 2 January 2002:

The squad is due to assemble in Sydney after departing Melbourne on the morning of Monday 31 December.
The umpires for the Third Orange Test match are Darryl Harper (Australia) and David Shepherd (England), with Simon Taufel (Australia) acting as third umpire. The International Cricket Council match referee is Ranjan Madugalle of Sri Lanka.

Australia holds a 2-0 lead in the three-match Orange Test series after a 246-run win in the first Test at Adelaide and a nine-wicket win in the second Test in Melbourne.
