England's young guns triumph in Oz

England's young stars gave a glimpse of a rosy future when the ECB National Academy XI trounced their Australian counterparts by an innngs and 31 runs in Adelaide earlier today. After declaring on 601 for 8, with centuries from Andrew Strauss, Robert Key and Ian Bell, the Academy bowled out the Commonwealth Bank Cricket Academy (CBCA) for 386 and, following on, 184. Stephen Harmison, finished with match figures of 7 for 120. The victory makes it three wins out of three for the Academy on their winter tour.

The Academy's next fixture is a four-day game against the Victoria Cricket Association 2nd XI, starting on January 21. The squad will fly home for Christmas and New Year on December 15 before returning to Australia on January 12.
