The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reaffirmed its commitment to the security of England's players, after an attack on the Indian Parliament building in New Delhi killed at least 11 people. The BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya would not comment on the events, but a spokesman said that there was no need for panic, adding that the team's security is reviewed almost on a daily basis.

This is the first such incident on a tour that has been dogged by political issues, though the ECB's media officer David Clarke said the attack had no bearing on the tour. "We don't have the details and we will only comment if it concerns us," he said.

Fears about security in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks led Andrew Caddick and Robert Croft to pull out of the tour prior to England's departure last month.
