Hopes cleared for Tigers clash
Queensland Cricket - 1 February 2001

Allrounder James Hopes will take his spot in the XXXX Queensland Bulls team to tackle Tasmania tomorrow in the Mercantile Mutual Cup match at the Gabba after passing a fitness test on his hamstring this morning.

Hopes trained this morning under the scrutiny of Bulls physiotherapist Stephen Partridge and was declared fit following the session.

The Bulls were able to enjoy a full complement of players at the indoor session after the final day of the ACB Cup 2nd XI match between the Queensland Academy Of Sport and Victoria was washed out, freeing Brendan Nash, Nathan Hauritz, Hopes, Ashley Noffke and Lee Carseldine to train.

Despite the heavy rain sweeping Brisbane today, no decision will be made on whether tomorrow's match will go ahead until the umpires inspect the ground and decide there is no possibility of play.

The Tigers will train indoors at the Gabba this afternoon from 4.30pm.

Tomorrow's match starts at 2.30pm with gates opening at 1.30pm.
