11th Match,Carlton Series, West Indies v Zimbabwe, Statistical Highlights
Rajneesh Gupta - 6 February 2001

  • It was the 1681st ODI in cricket history.

  • It was West Indies' 415th and Zimbabwe's 180th match.

  • It was the 15th meeting between these two sides. The record now reads: West Indies 11, Zimbabwe 4.

  • Umpires Darrel Hair and Simon Taufel officiated in their 68th and 19th match respectively. It was also the 42nd day-night match in which Hair was officiating. He is now just one short of equalling compatriot Steve Randell's record tally of 43 matches.

  • There were as many as five run-outs in West Indies innings which equalled the ODI record. It was the sixth instance of half a side getting out in this fashion and first for West Indies. The accompanying table has the details:
Run-outs For Vs Venue Date Series/ Competition

  • Four out of the five batsmen were run-out with Brian Lara as one of the partners. Lara now holds the dubious distinction of being involved in running out partners on most occasions for West Indies. It was the 22nd time when Lara's partner was getting run-out. The previous record for West Indies was held by Richie Richardson. 21 batsmen were run-out while running with Richardson. Lara is now just one short of being involved in most run-outs for West Indies (including run-outs of both - a batsman and his partners) after Richie Richardson who had a tally of 33 run-outs in his career (15 self + 18 others). The accompanying table lists the batsmen with most run-out dismissals in a career for West Indies:
