ACB Fosters Lightice Extreme Speed Challenge

Sutherland Cricket Club's Daniel McLauchlan has won $3000 worth of Ansett Australia flights after bowling 134kph during the Fosters LightIce Extreme Speed Challenge final at the MCG today.

The New South Welshman won the prize with the fist of his three deliveries and out-paced North Sydney's Nathan Holloway (131kph) and Western Australian speedster Michael Thistle from Bayswater Morley (126).

Comedian Jimoen entertained the crowd with a 106kph ball off a 107 metre run.

Australian women's cricketer Cathryn Fitzpatrick notched 107kph.

The three finalists made the final after bowling the fastest deliveries during the preliminary rounds held in all states during the Carlton Series.

Carlton & United Breweries Brand Manager Andrew Meldrum presented McLauchlan with his travel prize and the other contestants with autographed Carlton Series bats.
