Selection committee meeting put off by a day
17 February 2001

The Board of Control for Cricket in India selection committee meeting scheduled to be held in Nagpur on February 19 to pick the Indian squad for the first Test against Australia has been deferred by a day and will now be held on February 20 at Mumbai.

"The meeting scheduled to be held here on the last day (February 19) of the ongoing three-day tie between India A and the Australians, will now be held in Mumbai on February 20," North Zone selector and former India all-rounder Madan Lal told PTI on Saturday.

Citing non-availablity of skipper Sourav Ganguly and coach John Wright, who will be having nets at the Wankhede Stadium, till the start of the first Test on February 27, Madan Lal said, "We are forced to postpone the meeting as both Ganguly and Wright will not be able to make it to Nagpur".
