ICC Media Release January 11, 2001

The ICC Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) today confirmed that it had held a preliminary meeting with England cricketer Alec Stewart, to discuss the allegations made against him in the Indian CBI report.

Mr Stewart confirmed that he is fully prepared to co-operate with the ACU's on-going investigations. If necessary a further meeting, involving more detailed discussions, will take place at some point in the future.

Mr Stewart met with Sir Paul Condon, head of the Anti-Corruption Unit and senior members of his investigative team.

Neither the Anti-Corruption Unit or Mr Stewart will be making any further media or public comment on this matter.
