Madugalle more or less satisfied with Indore's Nehru stadium
16 January 2001

The International Cricket Council's (ICC) match referee and former Sri Lankan Test star Ranjan Madugalle said in Mumbai on Tuesday he was more or less satisfied with the Nehru Stadium in Indore.

Madugalle, after meeting BCCI officials in Mumbai, told PTI that he would be submitting a detailed report to the ICC soon but "I am more or less satisfied with the basic facilities at the stadium. The outfield is a little bad but that can be set right and the pavilion, where the players would be put up during the match, and the Press Box are quite spacious. The Press Box can accommodate 200 press persons," he added.

The Zimbabweans played their tour opener, a three-day match, against the National Cricket Academy at the Nehru Stadium in November last year. International matches were banned during the Sri Lankan tour of India in 1997 after the pitch was found under-prepared and unplayable.

With the Austrlians expected here next month, Indore is likely to get a one-day international.
