Auckland 346 (R Nicol 93no, G Andrews 52, R Lynch 41, D Eliaba 36; D Good 4-85) v Central Districts 209-7 (K Jordan 94, G Todd 36). Wellington 407-9 dec (S Murdoch 71, G Mills 63, L Woodcock 62, S Allen 58, B Kennedy 50no; B Ryan 3-60) v Otago 175-9 (S Haig 53, B McCullum 41; L Woodcock 4-56). Northern Districts 101 and 116 (A Ellis 4-14, C Sowden 3-17) lost to Canterbury 296-6 dec (S Stewart 183, Sowden 47, H McCarthy 40) by an innings and 79 runs.
