Challenger Series teams to be picked on January 29
25 January 2001

The national selection committee will meet in Mumbai on January 29 to pick the India, India 'A' and India 'B' teams to play in the Challenger Series limited overs tournament to be held at Chennai from February 12 to 15.

Talking to PTI, the Indian cricket board (BCCI) Executive Secretary, Sharad Diwadkar, said on Thursday that the selectors would also pick the probables for the preparatory camp, which has been postponed by a day, before the national team would be selected for the home series against Australia.

"We had to postpone the camp as most of the Karnataka players would be flying home after the Duleep tie in Panaji to attend the felicitation function of former Ranji Trophy player and reputed coach KL Tarapore at Bangalore before proceeding to Chennai to attend the camp", he added.

"The camp will now start from February six and end on 11 while the selectors would decide the date to select the Indian team on January 29", Diwadkar said.
