Victoria High School report

A total of two games was played, with the first and Under-16 teams using a pitch at the Masvingo Sports Club and one at Kyle College respectively.

(a) First team performances

Victoria High scored 126 runs
Kyle College scored 94 runs
Victoria High won by 32 runs.

Tinashe Chitsaka of Victoria High scored 44 not out and took six wickets. Willem was the best player from Kyle College team, scoring 25 runs and taking one wicket.

(b) Under-16 team performances

Victoria High scored 70 runs
Kyle College scored 71 runs for six wickets
Kyle College won the game by four wickets.

Clifford Mugota of Victoria High scored 17 runs and took a wicket. The team captain Tavona Rushwaya managed to keep the team disciplined and focused on the game despite losing the match. The Under-16 teams of these two schools have a rivalry that has been quite close in terms of performance; their score range and difference has been no more than three runs.

This weekend, 27 January 2001, Victoria High School travels to Chiredzi to meet South Eastern College in their territory, and we hope to take them by storm.
